Background
Srivaisnavism, is the oldest and the largest vaisnava spiritual tradition. The direct following are found predominantly to the South of India, in the states of Tamilnadu, Andra Pradesh and Karnataka. There are many centres scattered throughout North India.
This ancient tradition has maintained its originality and purity, without any philosophical deviations, concoctions or influences of other traditions. On the contrary, its teachings have highly influenced the thoughts of founders of other vaisnava traditions. The main seats of Srivaisnavism are:
